From one pair of clippers to two cities

Designer Cuts started with “one barber, one chair, and one dream”: to bring multicultural style to the community.

How it started

  1. At first

    One pair of clippers

A young barber cutting his friends’ hair, learning by doing.

  2. Then

    Learning the trade

Years in other people’s barbershops, picking up every skill along the way.

  3. 2016

    The first shop

Designer Cuts opens on Meath Street in the Liberties, Dublin 8. It’s still home base.

  4. Later

    Galway

A second shop opens on William Street, with the same standard and the same welcome.

  5. Next

    Manchester

Plans for a shop across the water are on the horizon.

Three things that don’t change

  • Culture

A multicultural shop where everyone belongs, whatever your hair or your story.

  • Confidence

Every fade, beard and line-up is about how you feel walking out the door.

  • Craft

Consistency, precision and skill: the details that make a Designer Cut.

Moments from the chair

Building people up, from the clients in the chair to the next generation of barbers learning the craft.
